We believe that the community deserves access to information about case referrals, outcomes, and performance indicators. The State’s Attorney’s Office is accountable to all who live in Montgomery County and fairness is paramount. We hope this data dashboard leads to a more widespread understanding of the criminal justice system.

System Level Metrics and Indicators

Each one of these sections summarizes data about different parts of the prosecution process.

Charging and Filing

The State’s Attorney’s Office reviews felony and serious misdemeanor cases to determine whether they should be handled in the Circuit Court or kept in the District Court. This section presents data on all cases filed in Circuit Court.

Case Resolution

This section presents data on all cases prosecuted by the State’s Attorney’s Office that have reached a final resolution. Cases can be resolved in a variety of ways, including by conviction, dismissal, acquittal, or another disposition.

Sentencing

The prosecutor and defense attorney on the case provide recommendations to the judge, who decides on the ultimate sentence. This section presents information on sentencing by the most severe sentence imposed on the case.
